We are devastated to hear the news that Mark Hollis, the talented singer of the legendary 80’s band Talk Talk, has reportedly passed away. While known for the iconic hit It’s My Life, Talk Talk had a number of beautifully arranged songs with thoughtful lyrics.

Britpop icons Stereophonics have release a new single to hold us over until they finish recording their new album. The track Chaos From The Top Down tells a story from a perspective of a 15 year old boy who has been shot, and is left laying in the road to reflect on his life as he is dying. The lyrics are based on a true story that happened outside of the home of lead singer, Kelly Jones. The song forces us to see troubled youth as more than just a victim. But rather, children who had ambition, hopes and dreams…just like everyone else.
One of the worlds biggest mysteries seems to be, when will Chromatics finally release another album. While we don’t have answers, we can share this lovely new single from the Italians Do It Better label darlings. This weeks playlist celebrates the catalog of the legendary Peter Murphy. This features selections from all of his solo albums plus a few choice Bauhaus tracks. When making the playlist, I fully expected to have quite a few selections from Deep and Cascade. But, I was a bit surprised at how many songs from Unshattered would end of making it. This just proves that it’s good to go back and examine an artists entire catalog.
