Trip hop icon Tricky returns with the announcement of his new 20,20 EP on his False Idols record label. The EP is due out on March 6. The single, Lonely Dancer, from the EP was just released this week and features the Berlin based vocalist Anika. Lonely Dancer has a super-chill vibe with a Beth Orton style vocal from Anika.

Hooverphonic has released a new single titled Release Me for the Eurovision 2020 song contest. Release Me continues in Hooverphonic’s recent orchestral sound and it works well on this single. The band has been rotating singers since it’s inception and that trend continues. Noemie Wolfs is no longer with the band and she is replaced with Luka Cruysbergs.

Manic, the latest single from Toronto’s Prince Innocence, may have just heralded the end of synthy summer jam season. The deep, bassy intro hearkens back to late 90’s Triphop. The song itself has a dark and ominous feel throughout. The lyrical content does nothing to brighten the mood, with its reference to ‘dark hallways and wasted days’.
