DJ Mikey is the creator of Strangeways Radio and the host of the Halcyon Waves podcast. He specializes in the synthpop genre with a focus on the latest music. Mikey also likes to DJ in live venues as well as produce occasional Mixcloud DJ Mixes to share with his friends and followers.
As first reported by NME, Peter Hook announced during his Joy Division Orchestrated concert at Royal Albert Hall that he will be reuniting Monaco with singer David Potts. Of course, the two have never been too far apart as Potts has been touring with Peter Hook And The Light over the years.
New Order singer Bernard Sumner has received the Integro Outstanding Achievement award at the 2019 O2 Silver Clefs awards. This award was granted to him for his aid in the music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins. Blondie, Patti Smith and Robert Plant have received this award in years past. He was presented the award by The Chemical Brothers.

On August 16, Ride will release their next studio album This Is Not A Safe Place. The first single from the album was Future Love which featured the classic Ride shoegaze sound that we have become familiar with. The new single is called Repetition and it has quite a different vibe to it. It’s more of a banger that kind of feels like if Underworld wrote a song for Jesus And Mary Chain.

New Order has announced that they will perform a residency at the Fillmore Miami Beach in 2020. Called “Four At The Fillmore”, there will accordingly be four shows from January 14 – 18 and tickets go on sale this Friday, June 28, at 10am EST.
