Underworld | Vampire Vocals | DJ Mikey
This mix features a variety of Post Punk and Indie tunes that we like to call “Vampire Vocals”. It features all male singers who have deep dark voices. This is a great mix to listen to on your darkest days!

Most of my current musical taste has been sculpted by the music from the legendary Detroit radio show, Big Sonic Heaven – hosted by Darren Revell. That show pioneered a new music movement that celebrated modern ethereal music featuring a variety of dreampop, trip hop, brit pop and more.
This is Volume 2 of a mix featuring bands whose sound is inspired by the Drive Soundtrack. This is a popular theme on the Halcyon Waves show. This mix features songs from this genre over the last year or so, blended together for your enjoyment.

This mix celebrates some of my favorite recent Post Punk tracks. The songs in this mix will remind you of bands like Interpol, Jesus & Mary Chain, and plenty of other post punk favorites. Most of these bands are pretty new, so this is a good way to explore some up and coming bands.
This mix doesn’t feature a particular genre of music. Instead, it features songs of a few different styles all of which make you “feel”. Some of them draw you in with the lyrics, others with the vocals, or perhaps the music. When listening to these songs, you can feel the emotion and honesty of the artist in their delivery.
This is the second volume in the Modern Synth series that features some of DJ Mikey’s favorite new synth tracks from his Halcyon Waves show over the past 3 months.
For this mix, DJ Mikey has put together some of this favorite darker synth songs for you. Although not intended, quite a few of these songs end up having a heavy Depeche Mode sound to them.
This mix features a variety of synth songs that seem fit for a modern day John Hughes movie. Some of these would fit right in with one of the 80s movies. Others are interpretations of the direction we think Mr Hughes might have went in if he were putting out movies today – taking on darker themes and more modern music.
