Chicago’s Jack Armondo is a truly one-of-a-kind musician, and his Panic Priest project is profound proof. Following the release of 2018’s self-titled debut comes the appropriately titled Second Seduction – a deeply relevant record for the wildly chaotic world in which we find ourselves floundering for sincerity and connection amidst the upheaval of daily routine.
It seems almost ironic that sunny, colorful Miami is home to a musical project like Astari Nite. Quintessentially goth, cemented by their blended Cure-meets-Bowie darkling post-punk sound, their somber tones and poetic lyrical memento mori belie a celebration of the resplendence of this cobwebbed corner of the music scene.
This weeks compilation features some of our favorite new tracks in the genre of dark wave / dark synth. It’s headlined by the opening track People Are Fake which takes a no punches approach to calling people out.
Past Forward is a club night that I had to cancel due to the Corona virus. It’s an alternative dance party that features new releases blended with classics in the genres of synth and post punk. Who knows when we will reschedule so instead, I decided to mix together some of the songs that I intended on playing that night. It’s been an active day on the Cold Cave front as bands are finding ways to stay busy and creative in these times of COVID. Yesterday, Cold Cave released a cover of Absolute Body Control’s track Waving Hands on Bandcamp.

Bella Lune has recorded a a live performance of their songs “Onward” and “Silent And Still” for the Strangeways Sessions series. This performance was recorded live at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona.
