Hooverphonic has released a new single titled Release Me for the Eurovision 2020 song contest. This is the 65th edition of the contest that will take place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Artists from 41 countries will participate in this contest. Hooverphonic is currently 1/2 through their Looking For Stars European tour. We continue to hold out hope for a US tour in the near future.
Release Me
Release Me continues in Hooverphonic’s recent orchestral sound and it works well on this single. The band has been rotating singers since it’s inception and that trend continues. Noemie Wolfs is no longer with the band and she is replaced with Luka Cruysbergs. Luka has the closest vocals to the early Hooverphonic work, which we all hold in such high regard. We are looking forward to hearing more new music with Hooverphonic and Luka.
Lyrics
Release me
Don’t talk go away
Release me
It’s not right to make me stay
All the lies and all the pain
Only you can make them go away
Release me from this sad and losing game
Release me
Don’t say what I already know
Release me
only trouble steals the show
All those words won’t comfort me
It’s clear we’re not meant to be
Release me from this sad and losing game
You’re all I want
A dangerous need
it s wrong to keep you close to me
If you dare
If you care
Then cut the ropes and float away
Yes release me
If you love me, let me go
Release me
Don’t talk go away
Release me
It’s not right to make me stay
All the lies and all the pain
Only you can make them go away
Release me from this sad and losing game
You’re all I want
A dangerous need
it s wrong to keep you close to me
If you dare
If you care
Then cut the ropes and float away
Yes release me
If you love me, let me go
All the lies and all the pain
Only you can make them go away
All those words won’t comfort me
It’s clear we’re not meant to be
Release me from this sad and losing game
