On this day in history (June 13, 1995), Bjork released her second studio album Post featuring the singles Army Of Me, Isobel, It’s Oh So Quiet, Hyperballad and Possibly Maybe. Bjork recorded this album after she left her home town of Iceland in favor or London.
Erasure have released the first single off their forthcoming album titled The Neon. The single is titled Hey Now (Think I Got a Feeling) and it has a disco-soul vibe to it.
On this day in history (May 11, 1993), New Order released their sixth studio album Republic featuring the singles Regret, Ruined In A Day, World (The Price Of Love) and Spooky.The band parted ways just a few months after the release of this album and didn’t release music together until 8 years following Republic.
The Italians Do It Better band Desire have released a brand new single and video called Desire. This follows their cover of Bizarre Love Triangle earlier this year. Many fans got to see Desire for the first time as they toured with Chromatics last year.
While the wait for Dear Tommy continues, Chromatics are not sitting idle. Quite the opposite in fact as they are becoming quite a prolific band releasing their second album in under a year. Today many of us woke up to see a surprise new album called Faded Now
New York electronic musician Zachery Allan Starkey has collaborated with New Order’s Bernard Sumner on his new track Force, which is off of his Fear City album due out in April. Bernard is credited with synthesizers, guitars, sequencers, keyboards, additional drum machines and production
IAMX have released a new acoustic album titled Echo Echo. A video for the track surrender accompanies the release and it’s everything that you might expect from IAMX. It’s dark, sexy, creepy and wonderful! To quote Chris Corner: “So much blood sweat and sexual chocolate icing went into this”. Intrigued? Watch the video!
Pulp fans, rejoice. Frontman Jarvis Cocker has formed a new band called JARV IS and announced their debut album called Beyond The Pale which is due out on May 1 on Rough Trade records. Last May, they released the first single Must I Evolve. Today, they have released the follow up titled House Music All Night Long. The latest track gives of a vibe of the electronic era of David Bowie.
Boniface is a synth project from Winnipeg singer Micah Visser. His debut self titled album was just released this week and it’s filled with infectious electronic/pop songs, mostly upbeat in nature. Boniface makes it easy to see what they are all about, as there are a handful of videos to accompany the album singles.
On this day in history (January 30, 1989), New Order released their 5th studio album Technique featuring the singles Fine TIme, Round And Round and Run. This was the bands first album to reach #1 on the UK charts.
Bella Lune has recorded a a live performance of their songs “Onward” and “Silent And Still” for the Strangeways Sessions series. This performance was recorded live at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona.
