On May 18, Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris team up for a celebration of the life and legacy of Joy Division bandmate Ian Curtis. The event marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Curtis and the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. The evening will include 2 hours of live and exclusive interviews, conversation and music and poetry,
Special guests include:
- Brandon Flowers from The Killers who will talk about the influence Joy Division had on his band
- Mark Reeder – friend of Ian Curtis and remixing guru of several New Order tracks
- Maxine Peake
The event will be live streamed at https://unitedwestream.co.uk/. It is a free event but donations are encouraged as 70% of all donations will be forwarded to the mental health charity Manchester Mind. The remainder of the proceeds will be split between Nordoff Robins and the Mayor Of Great Manchester’s Charity.
