On this day in history (March 22, 2013), Depeche Mode released their 13th studio album Delta Machine featuring the singles Heaven, Soothe My Soul and Should Be Higher. In our opinion, this album was vastly underrated. In additional to the singles, Welcome To My World and Soft Touch/Raw Nerve were standout tracks for us. Additionally, the Owlle Remix of Heaven was one of the bands best remixes in quite some time.
When the album came out, it seemed like many fans were negative about the album. I found myself fighting them on the subject. 7 years later, I still stand my ground in my appreciation for this record.

The album finds the band striking just the right balance between the chirpy electro-pop of their early days and the harsh industrial dissonance of the later albums
– The Times
lays the template for some of the band’s most vigorous, energetic material in 15 years. In what has always been a frighteningly consistent career, Delta Machine stands there amongst the band’s finest work
