This weeks compilation features the latest new releases in synthpop with songs that sound like they would be featured in a soundtrack to a sequel to the Drive motion picture. This features some staples in the genre such as Chromatics and Electric Youth plus some of my favorite new artists Wolfclub and Cannons.
The synthpop group Parralox recorded a mashup featuring Atomic from Blondie and Blue Monday from New Order. While we generally don’t post too many mashups, this one was too perfect for us to pass up. The Neon Nights radio show and podcast have offered a free download of this mashup for you to add to your collection.
With the release of new Chromatics and the announcement of their tour with Desire, it felt like a good time to revisit the theme of Music Inspired by the Drive Soundtrack. This is a collection of smooth synth tracks with a consistent pulsating beat. These tunes are great to listen to while driving in the sunset and wearing your favorite pastel colors.
