While The Cure is just finishing off their Disintegration stint in Australia, it was announced that a film titled “The Cure Anniversary – 1978-2018 – Live In Hyde Park London” will be shown in theaters around the world on July 11
The much anticipated 30th Anniversary Disintegration tour made it’s start with a 4 day run at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. The show was a treat for all hard core fans of The Cure. Not only did they get to hear Disintegration in it’s entirety, but The Cure surprised the crowd with an encore of b-sides and rarities, playing all of the b-sides from the Disintegration era.
I had the opportunity to see one of my favorite bands play my favorite of their albums from start to finish on it’s 30th anniversary; Starfish – by the Church. The Church, a mystical indie band from down under; known well for the imagery layered under lush guitars and stand out riffs, absolutely met the expectation of a one of a kind, dreamlike experience.
Headlining for the evening was ACTORS, a Vancouver-based quartet whose debut full-length record, It Will Come To You, has been taking the indie music scene by storm since its release in 2018. And it does indeed seem to be coming to them, as their live performances have been turning up sold-out venues and a lot of word-of-mouth hype – deservedly so, as they are of a singular body onstage, a well-oiled machine build on rhythm, melody, and empathy
On this 30th anniversary of the release of Disintegraton, The Cure has announced that they will be live streaming their final concert from their stint in Australia at the Sydney Opera House.
In a tweet earlier today, The Cure have announced that they will be playing this years Austin City Limits Music Festival in October. This is the first North American tour date that they have announced so far.
