On this day in history (February 28, 1986), the soundtrack to the motion picture Pretty In Pink was released. This is generally considered to be one of the greatest soundtracks of all times. Like most John Hughes movies, the soundtrack consisted primarily of brand new new wave music.

Trip hop icon Tricky returns with the announcement of his new 20,20 EP on his False Idols record label. The EP is due out on March 6. The single, Lonely Dancer, from the EP was just released this week and features the Berlin based vocalist Anika. Lonely Dancer has a super-chill vibe with a Beth Orton style vocal from Anika.
IST IST is the latest post punk band to hail from Manchester and based on what we have heard so far, this band is going to be a post-punk mainstay in our collections.
