The Cure - 30th Anniversary Disintegration

The Cure debut never before played Disintegration B-sides and rarities at Sydney concert

The much anticipated 30th Anniversary Disintegration tour made it’s start with a 4 day run at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. The show was a treat for all hard core fans of The Cure. Not only did they get to hear Disintegration in it’s entirety, but The Cure surprised the crowd with an encore of b-sides and rarities, playing all of the b-sides from the Disintegration era.

Bitter Sweet Gesture : Rolling Stones grant full publishing rights to Bitter Sweet Symphony to The Verve

One of the marquee songs from The Verve (and of the Brit Pop era in general), Bitter Sweet Symphony, is a song with legal controversy. It was determined that the song was based on the Rolling Stones song The Last Time. The Verve had originally received permission to sample the song but were sued by the Rolling Stones manager claiming that they used more of the song than was agreed upon.
