New Order comments on Peter Hooks decision about selling Ian Curtis letters at auction

Ex-New Order bass player, Peter Hook, auctioned of a variety of memorabilia at an auction this past week. In this auction, Hook has originally intended on selling letters between Ian Curtis and his former girlfriend Annik Honoré. Just prior to the event, he changed his mind and withdrew the submissions. Members of New Order were not happy about this decision and we quite pleased that Hook ultimately changed his mind.

The husband/wife Kennniff duo, otherwise known as Mint Julep, have release a cover of Talk Talk’s It’s My Life to pay homage to the late Mark Hollis, who passed away earlier this week due to illness. The cover is a beautifully arranged synth down tempo version that stays true to the sound of the original song, while offering enough differences to endear it to listeners.

Britpop icons Stereophonics have release a new single to hold us over until they finish recording their new album. The track Chaos From The Top Down tells a story from a perspective of a 15 year old boy who has been shot, and is left laying in the road to reflect on his life as he is dying. The lyrics are based on a true story that happened outside of the home of lead singer, Kelly Jones. The song forces us to see troubled youth as more than just a victim. But  rather, children who had ambition, hopes and dreams…just like everyone else.

The 2019 Lost 80’s line up has been announced and it lives up to it’s name. This years line up consists mostly of one hit wonder 80’s bands, coupled with a few 3-4 hit wonders. Among the artists on this years tour are Boy’s Don’t Cry, A Flock Of Seagulls, Farrington + Mann (original members of When In Rome), Trans-X, Missing Persons, Animotion, The Motels, Christopher Anton (Information Society), Dramarama, The Flirts and Wang Chung.
