This article highlights some of the new music that was released the week ending March 05, 2019. This week features some dark wave/post punk, shoegaze, synthpop and indie pop. Some nice variety for you all.
The Present Moment
Taken from their new album Split, this track will remember you of classic tracks from OMD’s early days. The album also contains a new version of the track New Day which made the rounds on Strangeways Radio a few years ago. The Present Moment is a perfect blend of dark wave and post punk and at time, pure synthpop.
Seasurfer
This is the latest track from the Hamburg based shoegaze band that will appear on the forthcoming album “Electronic Monsters”. This track mixes their typical shoegaze sounds with a little bit of electronic music and I love the result. This is recommended for fans of Curve with perhaps a more dreamy vocal.
Blaqk Audio
Taken from the dark electronic bands new album Only Things We Love. While this band has had a sounds compared to bands like Apoptygma Berzerk or The Cruxshadows, this track has a much more accessible synthpop sound to it. The album as a whole has a lot of diversity in it, with one song even reminding us of a modern-day Devo.
Alcabean
Taken from their latest album Confessions, this track will remind you of The Pain Of Being Pure At Hearts. Pure indie pop joy with this track featuring a video with an Evil Walrus Boy!
