The Day In History : Tears For Fears released The Hurting

On this day in history (March 7, 1983), Tears For Fears released their debut album The Hurting featuring the singles Mad World, Change and Pale Shelter. However, there is so much more to this album than just the singles. Songs like Suffer The Children, Memories Fade and Ideas As Opiates are all single quality songs and combined, they make The Hurting perhaps my favorite album of all time.

Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker releases new song House Music All Night Long under the moniker of JARV IS

Pulp fans, rejoice. Frontman Jarvis Cocker has formed a new band called JARV IS and announced their debut album called Beyond The Pale which is due out on May 1 on Rough Trade records. Last May, they released the first single Must I Evolve. Today, they have released the follow up titled House Music All Night Long. The latest track gives of a vibe of the electronic era of David Bowie.

Chandeen release Mercury Retrograde, 10 songs of dreampop heaven

The prolific dreampop band Chandeen has just released their 10th studio album Mercury Retrograde.The album has an astronomy theme, influenced in part with Harald Löwy Julia Beyer’s fascination with the topic. This album uses several angelic vocalists this time around, keeping with the theme of rotating vocalists that has been prevalent since the bands debut in 1990.
