Attendees of this years South By Southwest festival are in for a treat. The amazing Artoffact record label will be showcasing their artists including Kaelan Mikla, Actors, Cloud Rat, The Foreign Resort, Otzi, Bootblacks and Devours. Last June, we reported a new project called Humanist that features the music of Rob Marshall. The album will feature the music of Mark Gardener from Ride, Mark Lanegan from Queens Of The Stone Age and Screaming Trees and more. But, the song that most of you have been anticipating is the collaboration with Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode.
As previously reported here on Strangeways, Morrissey is set to release his next studio album I Am Not A Dog On A Chain on March 20. This first single is out today, and it is called “Bobby, Don’t You Think They Know” featuring Motown legend Thelma Houston on background vocals.
On this day in history (January 8, 2016), David Bowie released his 25th and final studio album titled Blackstar. The album coincided with Bowie’s 69th birthday. Blackstar was recorded in secret and sadly, Bowie died 2 days after it’s release due to liver cancer that he had kept secret from the public

Michael Stipe has released his second solo single titled Drive To The Ocean. For all of 2020, all proceeds for the record will go to the Pathway To Paris charity – a non-profit organization dedicated to transitioning the world to 100% renewable energy
Pet Shop Boys have released the 3rd single off their highly anticipated new studio album Hotspot. The single, Monkey Business, has a bit of a disco feel to it. Monkey Business is currently released as a “radio edit”.
