Last night VNV Nation performed in the Gothich Meets Klassik Festival in Leipzig. They performed 9 songs with completely new arrangements featuring a full symphony orchestra. Ronan had this to say about the event: “I have no words to describe tonight except to say that if there was a high point in my life then this was it tonight. I was never so emotional, never so able to live every word i’d written, never so able to feel fragility and victory simultaneously. I felt so beautifully human and felt my soul sing through me.”

Those of you bemoaning the fact that VNV Nation seemed to have skipped your town on their recent tour, rejoice in Victory not Vengeance (see what we did there?). The band has announced a second leg of their North American tour that will stretch from February to March and cover cities the band couldn’t get to on their first jaunt, beginning Feb 15 in Nashville. The 2nd leg will also include re-scheduled dates for their Los Angeles and Phoenix shows. Support on all dates will be from German electronic dance project Straftanz.

German-based Futurepop/EBM band VNV Nation has become increasingly melodic and accessible and maybe never moreso, than on their 8th studio record, Automatic, which has struck quite a chord at Strangeways Radio. Already fans of VNV, the track Nova is being forecast in the Top 10 of many year end lists for a few of the Strangeways DJs and their listeners. In fact, in a recent Strangeways Radio chatroom session, Automatic got a mention during a discussion of Desert Island Albums.
