The summer may have just got its official jam. Saint Etienne has set June 25 as the release date for I’ve Got Your Music, the 2nd single from their new LP, Words and Music.

The single will be available as a digital download EP as will as physical 7″ and 12″ versions. The 7″ single has unreleased demo called Lullaby as its B-side. The 12″ and digital EP are backed with remixed by Leo Zero and Glden Filter as well as a previously unreleased track, Lullaby.

The 12″ also comes with an exclusive 20″X30″ poster for the Saint Etienne film What Have You Done Today Mervyn Day, which chronicles the redevelopment of London’s Lower Lea Valley backed by original Saint Etienne tracks.

You may have noticed several of your favorite bands adding events to their timelines on Facebook; release dates of albums, key tours etc…Saint Etienne is taking a slightly different approach to it. They want YOU to be a part of their history.

The band is calling on their fans to contribute memories of seeing, listening or reading about the group to the Timeline, and share experiences with other fans. These could be photos of Saint Etienne shows, ticket stubs, early vinyl, magazine cuttings, or memorabilia – absolutely anything to do with the group. The more unique, the more other fans will appreciate it.

They’ll pick their favourites and put them into the Timeline, giving you full accreditation and telling the story on your behalf. If you submit something that really makes them smile, there are a few prizes that Sarah, Pete and Bob have been keeping in their lock-up.

The English Dance-Pop group Saint Etienne have not released a new record in 7 years, but that is going to change this Spring. The trio of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs are preparing their 8th record, reportedly titled Words and Music.

Today, they have annouced the first single, Tonight, and have made it available as a free MP3 download thru their Official Website.
