David Bowie has 2 options available for fans; a 7″ picture disc in clear sleeve of Drive-In Saturday b/w Drive-In Saturday (Russell Harty Plus Pop Version) as well as a collectible white vinyl 7″ featuring The Stars Are Out Tonight and Where are We Now taken from Bowie’s album The Next Day.

In anticipation of the April 8th release of English Electric, the synthpop duo OMD has leaked one of the new album tracks called Night Cafe. Night Cafe is being considered as a possible single off of the new album, and when asked about it, Paul Humphreys described the song as “She’s Leaving Meets Souvenir”.

Ahhhhh, that’s more like it. Emulating their idols, Kraftwerk, OMD have previously issued 2 animated teaser videos featuring computerized voices to promote their new LP, English Electric. Finally today, OMD deliver the single with classic OMD vocals.
The 7 1/2 minute Metroland will be the first single from the new LP. The single will be released March 25, with the full LP dropping April 9.

80′s fans in the UK take delight; The 2013 edition of Rewind Festival is here! Last year’s shows featured the likes of OMD, ABC, Limahl, Midge Ure, Lighting Seeds, Marc Almond, Adam Ant, Rick Astley. It looks like 2013 is following suit with the announcement of the lineup for the Scotland show.

Synthpop legends OMD, have announced that their new LP, English Electric will be released on April 8. The new record, their 12th studio release is the long-awaited follow up to their amazing 2010 comeback record, History Of Modern which hit the top 30 in the UK Albums Chart.

The second single from Architecture & Morality mixed a light dance beat with a simple bass line, then layered in choirs, lush synth strings, and Andy McCluskey’s heartfelt vocals to create a memorable OMD single. The timeline art is a re-creation of the original 12” single design, which displays one of Jeanne d’Arc’s signatures (signed “Jehanne”). This is the kind of 12” single artwork that belongs in a frame!

Summer is always a great time for nostalgic tunes, and what better era to relive than the 80′s? The 4th annual Rewind – The 80′s Festival will take place over 2 weekends in the UK this summer, featuring a virtual smorgasbord of 80′s pop and new wave favorites. In addition to the bands, the festival will feature all sorts of sideshow fun: theme bars and nosh, a variety of camping options, fireworks, carnival rides, live karaoke, stunt planes and even a nun on a motorized piano (Musical Ruth!).

Screenwriter, Director, Producer John Hughes has over 30 films to his credit and had his biggest success when branching out to the family-friendly, Home Alone in 1990. As of 2009, Home Alone was the highest grossing comedy of all time. However, this is not his legacy. Hughes is best-known and most beloved for his 1980′s teen output. Hughes seemed to have his finger on the pulse of the American Teen unlike any film maker before him. His ‘Brat Pack’ of actors in these films, and his use of pop music in them are lasting icons, forever emblazened in the hearts and minds of today’s 30-40 somethings.
