The recent documentary, Upside Down: The Creation Records Story has caused the Strangeways Staff to reflect on some of their recent favorite Rock N’ Roll Movies (Note the recent – so please don’t yell at us for omitting This Is Spinal Tap!).
The film was released on DVD/Blu-Ray in the UK but we are eagerly await the announcement of its US Release Date. In the meantime, we offer a look at some of the great music-based films released on DVD in the last 15 years or so.

A pair of UK Modern Rock heavyweights will be hitting the road together this fall. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are already making their 4th visit to the US in the last 12 months, in support of their debut record. Word is, fans can expect a smattering of Oasis tracks to pepper the setlist.
Joining them will be Snow Patrol, whose latest record, Fallen Empires debuted at Number 5 on the US Billboard charts.

Not quite as revered as the 80s, the 90′s is still a decade of Britpop (Blur, Radiohead, James, Suede, Pulp, Happy Mondays), Electronica (Leftfield, The KLF, The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Daft Punk), Pop-Punk (Ash, Green Day, Weezer), Grunge Rock (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Hole), Rap (2PAC, Wu-Tang Clan, Warren G), and even heroes of the 80′s still kicking out classics (u2, REM, New Order).
