Astari Nite has been around since 2007 and in that time, they have had the opportunity to warm up acts such as Assemblage 23, Modern English, Andy Rourke of The Smiths, Apoptygma Berzerk and Stars. That's a pretty good resume for a band that hasn't released their first album yet. Now, after a few singles and EPs, the band is preparing to release their first full length album in the spring of 2013. Waves was the first single off of the forthcoming album. The second single is Pyramids which the band has made available as a free download for you all in anticipation of the album. Pyramids has a nice hybrid sound to it - featuring 80's new wave synth stylings with infectious melodies reminiscent of indie rock artists like White Lies. If you are a fan of the song and have purchased it in the past, you might want to go take a look at your cover art. The planned cover for the single was a photograph of British actor Terence Stamp. Terence is known for his portrayal of General Zod in Superman movies. He was also in a film called The Collector and the cover of "What Difference Does It Make?" is a photo taken from the set of that movie. However, Terence denied permission for the image to be used so instead, Morrissey re-enacted the scene - using a glass of milk instead of a chloroform pad.
