Vancouver Electronic legends, Delerium have announced an October 30 release date for Music Box Opera. The new record will be their first studio album in 6 years.
Delerium has come to be known for pairing amazing vocalists with their ethereal Synths. Past colloaborations include the likes of Sarah McLachlan (Silence), Kristy Thirsk (Flowers Become Screens, Returning), Leigh Nash Innocente, Run For It), Emily Haines (Stopwatch Hearts), Matthew Sweet (Daylight) and more.
Some of their longtime collaborators like Thirsk, Nash and Jaël are back, back it is the new collaborators that have use drooling. Honey-voiced Anna-Lynne Williams (Trespassers William, Ormonde, Lotte Kestner), Azure Ray and Leona Naess are but a few scheduled to appear on Music Box Opera.

Martin Rossiter, the former frontman of Gene, one Britpop’s most overlooked gems is back with new solo material. Rossiter has recorded 10 tracks for the new record, entitled The Defenestration of St Martin. In what is becoming a growing trend, he has used fan pledges to raise funds to release the already recorded tracks, with 1% of funds raised going to the League Against Cruel Sports.

The former frontman of the one of the most influential Shoegaze bands of all time has said that although the band members haven’t been in the same room recently, they DO all keep in touch and ARE on good terms. Well that is true of many bands, but is that enough? Is the desire there?

It’s seems that last year’s LP, All Hours went mostly un-noticed. It’s a shame since the record is chock full of the type of gorgeous Indie-Twee jangliness we have grown accustomed to from Ivy. Speaking of gorgeous, the band has released a new video for Lost In The Sun. If you want a gorgeous video, the lovely Dominique Duran, hazy sunshine and a beach is a good combo.

A few months back, we wrote about the rising band 2:54 that had captivated us with singles like Scarlet and Creeping. The Thurlow sisters have had an amazing 2012 thus far, releasing their debut LP on Fat Possum and headling a US tour as well as European Festival dates.
Now, behind their latest single, Sugar, they have been tapped to support The XX on their fall tour! The XX will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore LP, Coexist on September 10. They have already released singles for album tracks Chained and Angels.

Red Hot Organization (RHO) is a not-for-profit, 501(c) 3, international organization dedicated to fighting AIDS through pop culture.
Since its inception in 1989, over 400 artists, producers and directors have contributed to over 16 compilation albums, related television programs and media events to raise donations totaling more than 10 million dollars for HIV / AIDS relief and awareness around the world.
Their latest project is a tribute album to cellist, composer and songwriter Arthur Russell who passed away from AIDS-related complications in 1992. Russell has collaboarated with the likes of Phillip Glass, John Cage and The Tallking Heads as well as various DJs and Disco artists. Continue reading →

Garbage is back and in full force. They released their 5th album, “Not Your Kind of People” in May and head front rocker Shirley Manson has been doing tons of press supporting the album while doing a world tour.
If you didn’t think that was enough, Garbage has also been releasing music videos to support the record
Their first video was published in April to support their hit single Blood For Poppies. With over a million views, Garbage music videos have remained a wild success.

The German Synthpop band De/Vision is set to release their new album Rockets and Swords on August 24th. The band is pretty familiar to the electro-pop scene and has been around for over 25 years. They are known for bringing guitars into electro-pop and creating a fresh yet consistent sound.

John Taylor, the bassist of Duran Duran, has written an autobiography and it’s almost out for release. The book is titled “IN THE PLEASURE GROOVE: LOVE, DEATH AND DURAN DURAN” and will be available soon.
