Is there a forthcoming collaboration between The Church’s Steve Kilbey and The Afghan Whigs’ Greg Dulli?

Kilbey Dulli

Could a collaboration be forthcoming between The Church frontman Steve Kilbey and The Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers frontman Greg Dulli? In a recent post on Kilbey’s site, The Time Being, he detailed a meeting with Dulli, one of his musical heroes. Kilbey begins with a sentiment that we all know;

“just cos you like someones music

doesn’t mean you will like them

or they will like you…

in fact it might mean some great awkward balls-up…

or some embarrassing gushing or something…”

However, it appears that the pair formed a mutual admiration society. They hit it off immediately and have tentatively discussed workin together as they both;

“want to make music that makes you ache”

Do you want this to happen? What other dream collaborations would you like to see?

Read Kilbey’s entire post here…

Check out a somewhat shaky example of what such a collaboration might sound like, as well as a couple of their respective classics performed live.
