fndsh, I will remove JR and i'll think about Duncan Sheik. We have over 9000 songs in the library. I understand that you may not like a few. Please keep in mind that there are other listeners as well and although you may not like a song, it's quite possible that they do. If i song was added to the library it's probably because one of our listeners suggested it. So one listener asks for a song to be added and then another asks for the same song to be removed. What should we do? We do our best to select music that everyone will enjoy. I have granted the Duncan Sheik and JR requests because they are singer-songwriter types and that is not something that we feature often.

U2 is a different story. U2, REM, Coldplay...they draw a lot of opinions from people. I know that some people don't want to hear them...but plenty do. They are all iconic in their own way, and I find them to be relevant and interesting. They will not be removed.

Please don't stop playing U2!  I can understand if post-Joshua Tree is considered 'too commercial' to be alternative, but Boy, October, War, Under A Blood Red Sky are classic 80's alternative fare along with Smiths and the Cure.

Keep Achtung Baby & Zooropa while yer at it.

I didn't want to start a new thread just for this, but I would dearly LOVE to hear a song other than "49 Percent" by Royksopp.

They are one of the many under-rated bands on the radio here & they have so many other really great tracks.

Thanks as always, for having an eye and ear on what your listeners have to say. It's another aspect that makes me such a fan of Strangeways.

fndsh1, we have 13 songs by Royksopp on the station. They have all been played at least once in the last month or so. There is a stat that shows how often each song has been played and all of the royksopp songs have been played an equal amount of times (plus or minus 1). It must just be a coincidence/bad timing if you always hear the same one
