The dark wave & post punk hybrid band have shared the debut single from the bands third album Motionless due out May 24 on Dais Records. This song mixes some elements of danceable synth melodies with distorted guitar, resulting in a tune that should play well in some of our favorite modern dark wave clubs. Cold Showers is currently on the road in support of Tamaryn. Be sure to see them in a city near you.
Our staff writer Dana Culling says this of the single:
A paean to nascent trust, “Faith” is a dancefloor anthem wrapped in layers of lush melody. Marvelously built from the beat upwards, it soars confidently — even as the lyrics beg for simplicity. An outstanding track from beginning to end.
Lyrics
It’s temporary
I’ve all the faith I need
High above your head
I’m down here on my knees
I’ve heard it all
When I close my eyes
It’s temporary
Come and let me down
It’s temporary
This house up on the hill
I gave you my two hands
You elevate me still|
And once again
I’ll never tell a lie
It’s temporary
Come and let me down
Here I am
Head in my hands
It couldn’t be me
I’m without a trace
For all that you were
For all that you weren’t
This I swear
